A car with 100km/L mileage? Is it possible? Yes this dream will be fullfilled when Volkswagen launches its fuel economy car L1. The Volkswagen L1 was unveiled at the motorshow at Frankfurt, Germany recently. The Volkswagen L1 which is also known as Bullet car due to its shape. It is known also as 1 litre car because it runs approximately 100km per 1 Litre of fuel.
The Volkswagen L1 is a two-seater car which has most modern safety measures. The car was exhibitted at the Frankfurt motorshow in gun-metal silver colour. As per the specifications, the L1 is amazingly light with about 380 kg and has a very sleeky design. The aluminium and carbon fiber used to construct the car contributes much to its light weight. The light weight of Volkswagen L1 contributes a lot to its topspeed of 99 mph.
The Volkswagen L1 is equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid engine which gives L1 a great pick-up so that it reaches from 0 to 62 mph in only 14.3 sec. The car ejects just 39g/km of carbon di oxide also.
Instead of the rear view mirror, the car is equipped with a LED display. The interior of the car has been designed in a superb fashion. The seating arrangement of Volkswagen L1 is in such a way that 1 seat is behind the other.
The L1 has two driving modes - sport and eco. It also features auto start-stop.
