Mahindra Scorpio Hybrid review
Mahindra has announced that they are planning to launch the first Indian hybrid,Mahindra Scorpio Hybrid by middle of next year.The hybrid Scorpio is also interesting in that it will be a diesel-electric hybrid, not a petrol eletric one as is generally the case abroad.The company also said that theMahindra Scorpio Hybrid would not be much mroe expensive that the regular Scorpio and it alsolooks similar to the normal one. Mahindra Scorpio Hybrid uses an engine with a capacity of 2.2 liters that provides the suv with a power of 113 bhp and a torque of 270 Nm. Apart from this diesel engine, the electric motor that is equipped with the Mahindra Scorpio Hybrid provides a power of 40 bhp.
The vehicle will be using a diesel and electric hybrid and will run in four different modes. These modes are:
1.Motor assist mode
1.Motor assist mode
2.Generator mode
3.Regenerative braking mode
4.Idle charging mode.
Main Features of Scorpio Hybrid are:
• 2.2 Liter, I-4, second generation diesel common rail engine with 85 kW and 270 Nm ratings.
• 6-speed automatic transmission.
• 30 kW (peak) motor with max torque of 270 Nm (peak) and a max speed 8500 rpm.
• 288V, 8.4 Ah NiMH battery• Quick cold start with e-motor assist.
